Silk Crepe. The term "crepe" signifies that the yarns are twisted or crinkled. Crepe can be made from any fiber, natural or synthetic. The crinkled yarn gives a spongy, springy feel to the fabric. Here we have a quite thick, smooth, 4-ply silk crepe with a satiny finish.
