Silk Shantung. A slubbed silk ("slubs" are the small bumps in the fabric), which can be made either of Tussah (wild) silk, or of silk waste. Attractively rough in texture. There are synthetic versions, but properly the term is used of silk. A great fabric for decorators as well as ladies' apparel.
