regarding

uncertainty

Werner Heisenberg was under attack in 1937. In an SS news article, "White Jews in Science," he was threatened with internment in a concentration camp.
After appealing through family connections to SS chief Heinrich Himmler for "exoneration" and enduring a year-long investigation, the SS cleared Heisenberg and he was permitted to remain in Germany throughout the war.
For Heisenberg, the founder of quantum mechanics, was uniquely valuable to the Nazis despite his Jewish origins. Some hold the opinion that Heisenberg went on to participate in Germany's nuclear fission research in order to sabotage it; others assert that, as a theorist without much practical experimental ability, he was ill-suited to the task.
