Case you missed it..one of the most famous lines of 20th century
verse...and also the name of the terrific concrete poetry mag ed. by Ian
Hamilton Finlay..hop, skin, RUN, to NUDEL BOOKS..which has a number of
copies for sale...QUICK BUY....NOW...SLEEPING FOXES JUMPED OVER DREAM
OXES...QUICK BUY..Reminded me of Larry McM..and his essay on selling/scouting..in
D.Q....Poor.Old.Tired.Cowboy. some sense/nonsense...but took particular
umbrage to... not only was the Golden Age of Bookstores gone but the Golden
Age of BOOKSELLERS been done...WHOA NELLIE...this is prelapsarian edenic
jim-jam...THIS IS THE AGE OF AQUARIUS...we are in the midst of the greatest
rev. that the moribund backwater of Antiq. Boookselling has ever seen and
pre p.c. amigos are yearning for the dusts of yesteryears acres of books..The Golden Age of Bookseller is in the makin', not naming names but
one quickly springs to mind, and then 100's of new/old blood on the
net...the kind 'f wit and 'telligence..www wide..just displayed on this
list was not possible a generation ago...and the young 'uns keep on a
growin' up..Remember in the Gold Age...the booksellers were barely
literate..they were one step up from button salesmen...cheap floor space
and the endless moveabiltiy of the american populace, throw-em out culture
made these mammoth dinosaur stores possible...the poor sell to the rich who
then sell to the even richer for more...hop, skip, jump, Watch Capitalism
Run..Also 'case you haven't noticed we are the inheritors of the first
www culture..American after WWII to the second millenium..and U.S. Oneing
of the world...whatever you or i may think of this..Mess. De Gaulle..why
don't you have a seat in the corner and learn some Englishese...it's the
lingua America...it's the Book sellers of the world unitedIt's not often you're in a REVOLUTIONARY SIT..hear the tumbrils
roll...roll 'em Larry...give up the past that is past protecting' and join
the party...Let's Eat Some Cake..DRn..
