Notice the tom-toms are beating on the same ol' subjects,
mis-respresentation....eventually there's bound to be some
vetting...voluntary or enforced by B.B. or ABE...i like the free form
bookselling on both lists which lets the 'little guy/gal' rough it up with
Ursus/Serendipity/Heritage/,,,but without cc it's all blind faith...and
from some of the descrip. i keep seeing...it's just BLIND...A day or two before I left from summer vac., went to the local Sally
and bought some half-decent stock..and there was a Joe Bonano..Man of
Honor..1st D.J....why not there was an HBO movie coming out and i had sold
a Lucky Luciano bio for a C note the month before...Home, Jeeves, there are say 50 copies on line, 1st range from 10 to
30...so I figures this is another one l'll have to eat...and I put it on
for $50.00...why not be the most expensive...at least you'll get noticed
and cursed at...the movie comes and goes as does the summer...In
Sept..somebody from Az. orders it...I look it up again...there all still
there...(direct quote from Gertie Stein)...but who am i to argue with a
paying CC customer...For once, I ship it out in a day, priority, and in 2 days get a nice
note back saying customer is delighted with condition of book..and customer
is going tomorrow to get his Paisan Joe to inscribe book to him...Of
course, you wouldn't bring Joe Bonano a $20 copy of his book, that would be
Dishonourable, much better to show respect with my $50 copy...Joe was the literary Don...he'd be quoting Dante...while the Boys
wanted to get down to Bizness..listen..the lowest circle of hell to those
who sell the cheapest...Thieve's Honor Compadre..you only undersell
yrself..and the throat you cut is your own...Dr N....with or without the
knife...
