Rubinstein who're next door..H&R from here on in...spent 3,000,000 big ones
to renov. and 50,000 per mo. to keep it up...there handing out FREE make em
up and Fortune Cookies..so much for the world of big biz...A. comes by..to talk to tell me to ???...that he's got his 1st
written article plus cover in the NYorker..'em impressed..would that he;d
ever buy a book..buys off BibF and Eboy...sez they're (NYorker) driving him
crazzzy over every last , x y or z fact..mock sympathy for fammmmous
Pulitzer winners...but a nice guy.. I tell I write a self-agrandizing-self-promotion-
self-free-self-unwanted but by me on Net...and no body say booo about spelling
fact or.. pedantic self serving drivvel.... He leaves after I tell him about my new
found cousins..50 years after the big Holocaust relocate..postcards sent
and lost 50 years ago..Henri and Berti...and in the process try to sell him some Holocaust
books...ever keep the Eyes on the Prize...which of course he doesn't
buy...He walks with away & why did I have to mention Hitler on a glorious
spring day....and throws the cig. butt ..Maus I...Soho II...I only SCREAM at two people all day...One for looking at every page
of a book and then flipping it aside like a piece of trash...One for
looking closely at every page of a book that I have to take out of its
plastic entombment and not buying it for $15...I'm sure they both had a
point and I wish I had a stun gun...Touch it buy it..good motto for the new
B&N..Middle of the day midst the mob...middle-aged women sez to
friend...my son buys lotta books from this guy...like right??...who;s
you're son, ma'am...M...em'she's rite...he does...M. is the new Avedon 20
years from now..Kate Moss & Calvin Klein or is that Calvin Klein & Kate
Moss...Who drops buy two hours later but M...I tell him his mothers just
been here..No believe'em...Try to Sell him some books..but No Sale
Today..but goodfor the big bucks when x-mas rounds the bend...wonderful
guy..If someone has to be the New Avedon..certainly might as well be
M...lots of work...allllllllll commercial..so vats nu....All in All...good day..sell 2 books at Mad. Ave plus prices..A few
Vogues to Japanese Touristas...scream at only 2 people, get some sun...good
beginning (didn't i just say that) check?...good beginning for the spring
campaign, if we haven't won the war by Mother's day, we'll have to send in
the ground troops, adios muchachos, DR.n.
