can't sleep much...last m&r got eaten by the computer..no loss
bitter $ bitterer,,,supposed to see a Library that has multiple copies of EVERY
Tenn. Williams book, each signed, each in multiple copies, most also
insrib. by casts...80 yr old guy..mens not so sana...the executor is friend
of my wife...Mucho also SIGNED Maugham...Albee...Miller...mucho thots of sugar plum fairies and the JUST PRICE..or was that
the Jest Price..and offer as little as humanly possible..and see the chips fall 'em
where they might..to be continued...On the Flee Front this weekend...bought a Nazi Woman's Song
Book...$2.00, thank you very much, tho only a fair copy..brought to mind Zaluga's
Bookstore...in TO BE OR NOT TO BE..the used bookstore where the message is
past to the Polish underground...are we the last line of resistance or are
we the first line of insistence...On my floor with tons of other junk, dust, books, and other scary
objets is a Framed photo (birthday present) from Yivo archives of Warsaw
booksellers selling their wares from carts when the Nazis closed down the
shops...Let the trade take to the streets...to the people.Remember another Vishniak photo of bookseller in door way of empty
shop..which inevitably leads me to the final question..can we have
Booksellers w/o books..same way as Ministers w/o portfolios...or is that
w/o pyles..age and sitzfleisch catch up with us all...'member Max Weber...a 'beruf' i.e. a calling is not a bizness, it's a
vocation...from the latin "vocare' i hear you bro..i hear the call...it's
sez pay as little as possible and take the money and hide..somewhere
another Talmudic voice is saying something quite the diff.We live 'tween desire and stasis..ugh'em..at the Burroughs
Memorial..talk to two Booksellers waiting to get their books signed..me i'm
here as a civilian..kind of creepy..do it all the time and feel kind of
creepy...Nite Mrs Calabash..go read a book..good nite moon..good night..Drn.
