Spent the last half hour looking up the Helen Wells and Margaret
Sutton, 5 copies nice in D.J., that i just bought at the Flee. What a
morass of lies, deceptions, mistakes, idiocy and self serving
congragulations..and I thot the little old lady booksellers who sold
preteen sex..were as sweet as the covers,...finding a TRUE 1st is like
reading Ladino thru a telescope with one eye closed...nice to see
integrity, honesty and fair squaring are just where they always were in
the book trade...a 1st aren't they all 1st's??..call our resident
cowboy-liar-poet for more details..
To switch to lighter fare..the show of LYNCHIN postcards at
Roth-Horowitz made the 1st page of the Times Art Sect..Thur-Fri.???..That
is the same half owner Glenn Horowitz, the most succe$$$$ful bookseller in
NY, who made the Society Page a few weeks ago for his wedding, attended by
Jackie Mason and other luminaries...No, Virgiania, he DID NOT marry Cherry
Ames.. but anyone gettin' married should be wished Mazel Tov.....The
Lynchin P.C.'s are not FOR SALE..but one was bought for 30 grand..donated
to a Library...is there 'nother hiding in the Cherry Ames book nearest you..
Should be a book fair at the downtown armory in two weekends..now
that AB is defunct (double Hurrahs)...i've taken to doing the news..i'd
like to do the show but emotional, physcial and psychological collapse on
my part don;t make it likely...an expensive time should be had by all..i'll
try to get there on Day 2..& see what everyone bought before me..
I can't help but notice..queries keep coming on this list..with
the preface..I've looked at the data base and i can't find the vanity
pub..that i bought for a 25cent now have in hand and hope to send Abner to
Harvard so he kin figure whaterr these books 'er...HOW MUCH???...how about
quiting the crap and on the header just writing HOW MUCH
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$....Bookselling is a craft & art..you've got 15,000,000
titles to exrapolate back to your treasure..wouldn't it be better to ask
WHERE can I find the info..then how much, how much, how much is my
