Subject: m&r....at the PLAZA....

The Eloise got sold for 1,200...to the book store in the
WALDORF....poetic, geographical justice...I bought it a week before for 200
minus 20...kept heeing and hawing....looking & looking at it..shows how in
touch with reality I am...not in Touch, Nudel...

The TRADE was much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in evidence at TRINITY...did 3
grand plus....50 dollars of which went to the general public...let them
cake and read Ex Lib....took 4 boxes..and was out the door packed ready to
roll before 5.00, 10 minutes to closing...a world record escape time...the
150 boxes and drive em to Maine and point south, west, are still
packing....the elevator it's broke...

Bought a nice Rodchenko..Pageant of Youth....I always yearn for
the MASSES..long as i don't have to see them right up close...An Avedon
1947-77 SIGNED...which will become the most expensive one on the NET...5
CREELEY books...at the same price I pd for them 20 yrs ago...more poetic
Justice for our greates living poet...HE DONE LIVE TOO LONG....the mantra
of the TRADE is sign and die young...

Anyway, the collectors seem in shock...the dealers are
adjusting..if you sell the book...you need another book to sell ad
infinutum...the Charlotte's Web..that J sold for $160...I sold this time,
tho a tad better, for $1,350, again to a dealer...Can we chart chart that
on the I.P.O exhanges..

Sorry to interrupt the disucussion of whether VG is good 'nuf...or
it shoud be spelled out for the brain challenged...we sell the greatest
prizes in the history of culture.....why not spell it our for 'em.....the
language argot slang of the book trade is a continual source of interest
and fascination..& SHOULD NOT BE REPLACED BY COMPUTERIZE...idiocy for the
idiots..and you too have a wonderful day..drn...
