Patrick O'Brian was born Richard Patrick Russ. Under
this name he wrote the following books:

CAESAR: THE LIFE STORY OF A PANDA LEOPARD. (Putnam's.
London & New York, 1930). Illustrations by Harry
Rountree. [apparently the story of the, um, "union" of
a giant panda and a snow leopard].

BEASTS ROYAL. (Putnam. London, 1934). Illustrated by
C. F. Tunicliffe. [short stories].

HUSSEIN: AN ENTERTAINMENT. (OUP. London, 1938).
[published in Germany in 1939 as HUSSEIN: DER
ELANFANTENFUHRER].

Regards, Jeff
