- read and/or write: over half a million people are using livejournal to create a teeming virtual hive in the aether. it's fun to start your own. and aside from tens of thousands of cute teenagers, it's got such a ton of stuff, from deranged harry potter fanfic to discussion groups in re: everything, to really interesting experimental fiction.

- drink: they sound ghastly, but we recommend them highly all the same; viz., weird champagne cocktails made with chocolate vodka. we do not know what they are called, but suspect it's some kind of name like 'chocotini' that would only make us shudder. anyway. it's just a splash of chocolate vodka in a glass of iced champagne. or shampoo, as you'll doubtless be calling it later in the evening, whilst swinging gaily from the chandelier. the taste is both highly agreeable, and entirely confusing. maybe suitable for watching cocteau films or anime, or as an accompaniment to a game of charades. (speaking of the latter, forget those silly boxed party games; regular charades is more challenging, not to mention more fun and more elegant, and also you can't lose any little plastic bits.)
