- read: orange has published the results of a survey of the fifty best books by women writers. it's kind of fun; there are a lot of lightweights, but it was nice to see wide sargasso sea on the list. the annual orange prize for fiction is worth about $50 large; any chick who has written a novel, in english and published in the uk within a set period, is eligible. i also learned that the sponsor, orange, is a cell phone company (!) but the prize itself was endowed by "an anonymous individual".

- stargaze: at astrodienst you can download beautiful free astrological charts in pdf format. you'll need an exact time and place of birth, is all. note to skeptics: this ancient and bizarrely accurate system of psychological classification provides insight, not hard-and-fast answers; check it out. you can specify any flavor you like (placidus, equal house, etc.); experts will be amazed at the level of detail offered.

- drink: seriously tasty aqua libra; a slightly fizzy 'natural' soft drink, not too sweet, flavored with fruit and sunflower seeds and whatnot. absolutely scrumptious, and hellishly expensive (but not so bad as chateau d'yquem.)
