- find: found magazine is going to be a great success, we're thinking. it's a vast collection of found writing, audio, polaroids and so on that people send in from all over. there are some tremendous samples on the website, and if you subscribe you get a bigger printed version with handmade covers and whatnot. also you can send in your own found stuff, and they may publish it.

- read: the red lion is an unusual novel written by one maria szepes in hungary during the second world war. it was banned in budapest soon after publication, and lay dormant until the 1980s when a german translation appeared. the book became very popular in germany, eventually selling over 300,000 copies. it wasn't until the late 1990s that an english version appeared. but what a book! alchemy, birth, death, the elixir of life, the wheel, murder and mayhem, and one of the most wonderful accounts of sexual obsession i've ever seen.
