hear: keep abreast of new alternative and indie music at pitchfork, a lushly informative and beautifully written website. there is a kinder-gentler-lester bangs-like air to the whole proceedings.
 
write: possessive "its" has no apostrophe (an iambic line, but that is hardly the point.) what is up with this? i know, i know, sentences are supposed to begin with capital letters, too--but still.
 
read: evan dara (pseud.) the lost scrapbook is a dazzling novel first published in 1995 (to very little acclaim, and later resurrected by william t. vollman.) dara is just a boon companion, whose startling technical brilliance never overwhelms or even impedes the whitewater rush of this hilarious and original narrative. a mind-blowingly fun book.
